Proud and Humbled

May 5th, 2015

I am proud and now humbled to be working with Andrew Lustig, Founder and President of Global Outreach Doctors — an organization that is on-the-ground in Kathmandu, Nepal conducting search and rescue and providing medical aid to villages and surrounding areas.

Within days of the earthquake, GoDocs had a team of 9 medical practitioners and 3 search & rescue dogs delivering medical care, medicine, critical SAR, supplies and food. They are now up to 12 members (including 2 new MDs, 1 HoM doc), operating within the rural regions of Lele ( and Jiwanpur ( They’ve also worked in central Katmandu and the Chabahil ( region. The canine SAR has conducted several searches, some requested in rural regions and other more comprehensive searches in the Bhaktapur ( region. These searches tend to be within collapsed buildings and other structures. The photos and reports of their activities are humbling and uplifting at the same time.

It’s been an honor to be able to help the GoDocs team.

Ways everyone can help our Nepal brothers and sisters:

1. Go to GoDocs Donate page and give a donation. That donation will provide direct ‪‎medical‬ care as well as helping to pay translators, cover in-country travel expenses (gasoline etc), secure food and shelter for the medical team. Every dollar you donate will go directly to their efforts on the ground, which is not something many other organizations can do.
2. If you cannot donate, please share this post on Facebook, encourage your friends and family to like their ‪Facebook‬ page and spread the word.
